The profiles are welded with their cam on the outside of the inner support bars.
Small tolerances on the gap opening are achievable. This profile is usually used for small gap openings up to 15 microns. This is achievable because the excess welding material goes to the armpits of the profile, next to the cam. This way, unwanted welding slag on the side of the profile is avoided.
